Orlando has gas at $4 a gallon so I’m saying nowhere!
First of all, Orlando’s gas average is only $2.79 for regular gas. What the poster above is referencing is an article that appeared on The Drudge Report about an unsavory gas station owner that was charging $4 a gallon and not posting the price on his sign ….. a purely isolated incident.
Now, to answer your question, there are a number of places to stay. You’ll find lots of cheap motels on state road 192 over by Disney. This area is a pretty secure and safe area because it’s tourist town, plus you have the Disney courses just down the road including the famed ‘Magnolia’ course.
Also close by are golf courses at the Marriott World Center as well as the Gin Reunion Resort (home of the LPGA’s Ginn Open).
Unfortunately, the courses at Isleworth, Lake Nona, and Bay Hill are restricted to members only and those are three of the best courses in the country.
You can stay on International Drive near Universal Orlando Resort and hop over to MetroWest, a residential golf community with well-manicured greens. Once you arrive here, grab a sports page from The Orlando Sentinel (the local paper) and you’ll find all sorts of ads for public links that average around $25 a day including cart.
Good luck and I hope you enjoy your Orlando golfing experience.
We stay at vacation rentals instead of hotels when we go to orlando. We have been staying at the last few years and recommend it. It is less than three miles from Champions Gate and Reunion, home of premier championship golf courses and site of the Ladies Professional Golf Association’s Ginn Open. Over 100 other golf courses in the Orlando area. It was cheaper than one room at a disney hotel for a week, but I’m not sure if it would be considered “budget” if you are staying 2 full months (unless you would be getting a number of rooms). Good luck!
Disney Resort has the best deals for Hotel accommodations and Golf.
