Question about the rules of golf?

DodgerBlue42 asked:
What would the penalty be if a golfer fell on top of their ball? Yesterday, Tiger had an awkward shot, where he was standing on the bank of the trap, above the ball. His footing was unsure because of the sand, and the announcer said “I just hope he doesn’t fall on the ball”. What would the penalty have been if he had?

it would be 1 penalty stroke, but you’ve got to realize that tiger gets free drops from anywhere.all the referees let him off with everything.
one stroke penalty
1 stroke penalty.
rule 18-2.a
I think the penalty is 1 stroke for causing your ball to move. It would be 2 strokes if he had fell on the ball and did not replace it in the original position and proceeded on hitting the ball.
