at the begining of my high schools golf season practices, i was hitting the ball really well. after we came back from spring break though my swing just got terrible. for some reason i went from hitting clubs like my 7 iron 160-170 yards to hitting it 40 to 50 yards. what could have happened

Well your swing probably got off plane and now it’s all in your head. If you have one I suggest going to see your instructor and if you don’t have one I suggest getting one, and fast. It’s also hard to say what’s wrong without actually seeing your swing.

Winter happened. Happens to everybody.

you just had a lack of practice. Just hit the range and/or the course for the next few days and youll get it back if you try hard.

See a good teaching pro. Practice does not make perfect, but..Perfect practice makes perfect! Be patient, you may have picked up a bad habit or two and now are probably swinging to hard. In golf it is timing, remeber the ball just gets in the way of a good swing, hit through the ball NOT to the ball!
