When he is playing bad, he seems to drop his head too much on the downswing, which takes away the space for his arms to swing through the shot.

My personal opinion, is he plays great when he leaves the driver is his bag. He won the British Open without hitting a driver in 4 rounds. He is a superior iron player and it shows when he leaves the driver in the trunk of his Buick.

There's a difference between dipping your head and squatting to use your legs and the ground for more power, and Tiger seems to be dipping. But since I'm here and not one of the Top Ten Golf Coaches... what do I know?

Although Tiger seems to find the rough more than most (139th on Tour in driving accuracy in '06, 152nd in '07, we'll leave out '08 since it was a half year), it seems more prevalent now. Maybe it's the increased hype, more cameras focused on him and where his ball goes. I don't know if it's good for Tiger (or us) if we see his ball land on 7 when he's on 5 tee box... but it might make our perception change. Knowing he's inaccurate is different than seeing it.

The real question is- does it really matter? In the past, the answer was "No". He could win tournaments even if he was accidentally playing cross-country golf.

I'd say, give it time. In Golf Digest, he's said he wants to be competitive this year, but he knows it won't be easy. If things were terribly wrong next year, after his knee is fully healed (it usually takes 2-3 years for an injury like that to fully recover... just ask Donovan McNabb) then it should go into panic mode.

The media, real fans, and definitely the fair-weather "I only know/watch Tiger" fans should let things run its course, take a pill and give him some honest, actual time to come around.

According to the Guiness book, Tiger has the most perfect golf swing of any player on the PGA. Can't get much better than that!!!

Is this Hank Haney? Ha ha just kidding.

Tiger has a great swing and it is even better now that his legs/knees are stronger than ever. But his one fault is his dipping head. This can cause all sorts of problems from errant tee shots, to chucked shots, pretty much you name it and it can be reverted back to the dipping head.

He moves his head too much. His posture and mechanics are fantastic, but he'd be more consistent if he always kept his head still. You'll notice it if he hits a poor tee shot or iron to the green, it's almost always because he moved his head; up on the backswing, down on the downswing.
