steiny asked:
I always slice it when i drive. and i sometimes hit it in the middle. I’ve aimed to the left and got it to the right a little bit.and i also do a bump before i hit it. i hit the ground before i hit the ball usually. but i still hit pretty far. i hit about 175-200 from hittin the ground on accident. i hit 200-275 if i dont do that bump. and i always top the ball if i use my irons. are my irons too short?

Wow, I had the same slicing problem as you. What I do is put the ball towards my back leg and try to keep my head down and stay through the ball. It has been working for about a couple of weeks now.
Try it.
Hitting the ground first before you hit the ball is caused by you staying or keeping your weight on your right (for right handed) during your downswing. Topping the ball is also due to poor weight transfer to the target side during your downswing.
Try to initiate your downswing with from ground up, i.e. feet and hips will initiate the downswing by turning towards the target first before your hands racing down. This will eliminate the other faults that you have.
Your problem is you’re not keeping your head down and your left arm(if right handed) and wrist are not staying straight.
The way to keep your head down (if right handed) is to line up on the ball and before you start your back swing- gently turn your head to the right so that your left eye lines up directly over the ball. then keep your left eye right thereand remember top follow thru and when you do your head will stay down better and the follow-thru will bring your head around for you.
As for the left arm staying straight- try gripping your bottom or left hand(if right handed) tighter squeeze it hard against the club…this will keep the left arm fixed aswell as keep your club from turning as you hit the ball. Also if you take a practice swing first, then stay back where your practice swing was and simply extend your club furtheryou can muscle-up better-but until you can keep your head down the muscle won’t help you.
try swingin softer it will reduce the slice…. and when u aim left it will cause an even bigger slice
