Try a 10 minute lesson with a bunch of teachers in your area and you'll soon find a teacher that fits your learning style and isn't trying to rip you off. Don't bother video taping yourself. Do you do your own surgeries or remove your own tumors? Then why would you diagnose your own swing? Try one lesson practice and fix and then take another lesson. Do not do lessons where you just take 5 lessons in a row. If the instructor is not willing to do a trial lesson, then they're NOT worth going to. I was able to go back to the videos later on and watch them in slow motion. You would be surprised what you can notice when you watch these videos. I was able to isolate specific aspects of my swing which needed work and then go back to the range to try and improve them. I did this for a few weeks and noticed drastic improvements. I also uploaded some of the videos to some Golf Forums on the internet, folks on these forums are usually very helpful and I got quite a few pointers. If you want to look at some guides try the Simple Golf Swing Guide It really helped me overcome some of my own bad habits. You could do that online or through any decent coaching book. Take the time to check, grip, stance, alignment and posture. If you are like me one of the above is no longer as it should be and the swing goes from bad to worse. Many times compensating for fundementals and causing further issues. I suggest go every other week for 4 months and practice a couple times a week. golf is a tough sport so you have to put the time in. The one by me, at least, has a video lesson thing. During this you simply hit into a net, while a camera records you swing. The pro and you look at your swing and see what your doing wrong.
